Troubleshooting & what these tests measure

Permission denied? Use the site controls beside the address bar to allow the camera or microphone, then try again. Also check your operating system’s privacy settings. Close other apps that may be using the device.

Wrong device? Start the relevant test to unlock device names, then choose a device and click Apply / restart. Refresh devices after connecting a USB camera or headset. Your browser may hide devices until permission is granted.

No sound? Check system volume, the selected output and any physical mute switch. Output selection is available only in browsers that support it; otherwise use system sound settings. Use headphones for recording playback to avoid recapturing it.

Resolution, FPS and dBFS: Resolution is a preference, not a guarantee. The camera panel shows the actual track settings, including the browser-reported frame rate, not measured delivered FPS. Mic levels are relative to digital full scale, not environmental decibels (dB SPL). These are functional checks, not calibrated audio, latency or network-quality measurements.

Screen sharing unavailable? Browser and mobile support varies. Try a desktop browser. Camera and microphone access require HTTPS or localhost. No permission is requested automatically.

Privacy: No media is uploaded. A recording stays in this tab’s memory until you discard it or leave. Saving a snapshot or recording creates a file on your own device. Stop all tests releases active capture and stops playback; it does not delete an existing recording. A browser permission dialog may need to be dismissed separately.
